Plot Summary |
Sathya is a cowardly comic book artist working ghostly as his works are being published in some other guy’s name. He and his mother and sister have been living in a tin-shed house for the past few years, which is in a slum next to a river that runs in the city. Conditioned this way since his childhood trauma, he began a habit of sketching his ordinary life into extraordinary events in his handy notebook as a coping mechanism. Sathyas family, along with 500 families, are asked to move inside a newly built housing board, whose construction has been fast-tracked by Minister and Co. for Election Purposes. More than a thousand families are evicted from the place and forcibly shifted to a government apartment building built by Minister Jayakodi. Some people were happy to have a concrete house with a roof, even though they had lost their habitat. The water forms and cracks in the walls make the people unhappy every day. Sathyas mother opposes it and Sathya wants to stay calm and stay out of trouble. At one point, one of the ministers men misbehaves with Sathyas younger sister Raji, and Sathya is unable to face it firmly. The rest of the story is how Sathya, who knows through his voice how big the problem of that building is going to become, turns from a coward to a hero and then becomes a hero to face Minister Jayakodi. |
